Keys Park
Container Case Study
Hednesford Town Football Club wanted to modernise their matchday hospitality and reduce queuing times for fans. The club was looking for a faster, more efficient way to serve drinks without relying on bar staff. Lion Containers delivered a bespoke self-service bar container that changed how fans buy refreshments on matchdays.
What Was the Client Looking For?
Hednesford Town FC is a football club based in Staffordshire. The club plays at Keys Park and attracts strong local support on matchdays and event days. The club wanted to introduce self-service bar containers within their fanzone area. The goal was simple: Fans should be able to serve themselves quickly, safely and independently. The brief included:
- Fully self-service bar containers
- No staff required to operate the bars
- High drink capacity for busy matchdays
- A clean and modern finish
- Branding that matched the club and brewery
- A system that improved speed of service
Container Setup and Layout
The project used three 20ft containers in total. The containers were converted into fully operational self-service bar containers. All containers were supplied as new units to ensure clean interiors and consistent performance. Each bar container was designed to maximise speed and reliability during peak matchday periods.
Internal Modifications
Lion completed a full internal fit-out to support automated service and high demand. The conversions team installed:
- Food-safe internal lining throughout
- Vinyl flooring for durability and easy cleaning
- Full electrical installation
- Secure internet cabinets to support self-service systems
- Integrated beer coolers
- Two serving hatches per container
- Beer tap systems built into the serving hatches
- Air conditioning
Each container featured six beer taps. Across the three units, fans could access 18 beers at the same time. The system allowed continuous service with no staff involvement.
External Modifications
Externally, the bar containers were finished to match the club’s identity. Lion carried out:
- Full repaint in RAL 9004 black
- Application of customer and brewery logos
- Clean external finishes suitable for a stadium environment
The bold black finish helped the containers stand out while still fitting naturally within the ground.
Build Time and Delivery
The full project took 12 weeks to complete across all three containers. Delivery took place at Hednesford. Lion’s team attended site and supervised the entire process. Placement and setup ran smoothly. The containers arrived ready for immediate connection and use.
The Result
Hednesford Town FC now benefits from a modern self-service bar container setup that transforms matchday hospitality.
- Fans experience faster service
- Queues reduce significantly
- No staffing is required at the bar
- Multiple drinks are served simultaneously
- The system supports high footfall with ease
Both the club and the brewery were extremely happy with the finished result.
