Container Case Study

Lion Containers delivered a fully customised 20ft high-cube ISO container for offshore use in Great Yarmouth. This project marked the third successful collaboration with this returning customer. 

Key Specifications

Lion Containers started with a new (once shipped) 20ft high cube ISO container. The team designed the unit to sit directly on the vessel deck and tailored every feature for harsh marine conditions.

Inside, Lion lined the walls and ceiling with Hemsec steel-faced insulation panels, finished in a clean white gloss for a professional look. Behind the lining, the team applied spray foam insulation to ensure thermal performance and moisture control. A steel box section framework- powder-coated in blue, provided structural reinforcement. For added durability and hygiene, the team installed stainless steel worktops throughout the workspace.

To complete the layout, Lion installed a standard personnel door behind the 20ft ISO container’s cargo doors. A fixed window was fitted on the opposite wall to allow ventilation in the workspace. The floor was covered with durable, easy-clean vinyl, ideal for offshore conditions. 

The 20ft ISO container’s interior featured stainless steel benches, a stainless steel sink, and premium Bot-Verso cupboards. These high-end storage solutions supported the client’s daily lab operations. Air conditioning and LED lighting created a comfortable and efficient working environment. 

Externally, Lion coated the 20ft ISO container in RAL 5002 Ultra Marine Blue and applied a full NORSOK M-501 System 1 marine paint system to ensure long-term protection.
