Last week, Lion Containers returned to the Royal Welsh Show for the fourth year in a row. The Lion team kept busy throughout the four-day show, meeting prospective and returning customers while supporting a charity cycleathon in partnership with the DPJ Foundation. The Royal Welsh Show 2026 was truly one to remember!
The Stand
At Lion Containers, we offer full customisation including exterior painting or cladding. Whether you want to make a bold statement or complement the surrounding environment, you can customise a shipping container to suit your vision. At the Royal Welsh Show, we make sure our containers stand out. By stacking our bright red 20ft container on top of another, it’s visible from almost anywhere across the showground.
In order to minimise the ground space used, many customers who are seeking multiple containers are interested in their stackability. Demonstrating the ease with which our containers can be stacked is therefore key at our Royal Welsh Show stand.
We feature some of the most popular modifications at our stand, in order that visitors interested in their own custom container can see the alterations up close. These features include:
- Side-opening doors
- Marine plywood flooring
- Brackets
- Branded exterior
Shipping Container Conversions for Farms
The Royal Welsh Show is an excellent opportunity to discuss the potential of shipping containers with customers from the agricultural industries.
Shipping containers serve multiple purposes on farms from simple, secure, weatherproof storage, to custom milking parlours. With the climate growing ever more unpredictable, there is significant strain on farmers to protect their goods and seek alternative methods for growing and harvesting. This Lion shipping container, featured on BBC’s Countryfile, is a great example of how containers can be repurposed for indoor food production.
Shipping containers are an efficient, cost-effective way to upgrade a dilapidated, non-secure farm shed. Whether you’re seeking storage for hazardous chemicals, machinery, tack or feed, shipping containers provide optimal, regulation-compliant, anti-theft storage with often no need for planning permission. Lion Containers X DPJ Foundation Cycleathon
Every year Lion Containers teams up with a charity to raise essential funds and provide key support. This year, we chose the DPJ Foundation, a charity that works tirelessly to raise awareness of poor mental health within Welsh farming and provide round-the-clock support to those in need.
As the Royal Welsh Show is the home of Welsh farming, where better to raise money for the DPJ than at our stand?
Lion hosted a four day cycleathon, with the aim of cycling the distance from Cardiff to the Royal Welsh showground. The Lion team went above and beyond with their cycling, surpassing the target and in turn raising awareness of the DPJ’s excellent voluntary work.
On the final day of the Royal Welsh Show, the Lion team presented the DPJ with a cheque for £1000 – a sum that will support the charity in their 24 hour helpline open to farmers living with poor mental health.
Royal Welsh Show 2026
Yet again the Royal Welsh Show was a resounding success, with plenty of new customers walking home with a plan for their ideal shipping container conversion. It was excellent to welcome back familiar faces, especially those seeking the 2026 Lion Containers show t-shirt.
