Non-Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme
The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) is the world’s first long-term financial support programme for renewable heat.
Launched in November 2011 with a scheme for the non-domestic sector that provides payments to industry, businesses and public sector organisations. The RHI pays participants of the scheme that generate and use renewable energy to heat their buildings. By increasing the generation of heat from renewable energy sources (instead of fossil fuels), the RHI helps the UK reduce greenhouse gas emissions and meet targets for reducing the effects of climate change. The non-domestic RHI scheme has been open to commercial, industrial, public sector, not for profit and heat networks since November 2011. The scheme is designed to bridge the gap between the cost of fossil fuel heat installations and renewable heat alternatives through financial support for owners. The scheme helps businesses, the public sector and non-profit organisations meet the cost of installing renewable heat technologies. Payments are spread over 20 years, and a payment will be received every 3 months. Payment amount will depend on the type of technology you install, how much energy the installation can produce (its capacity), and how much energy you actually use (you get a certain amount per kilowatt hour). You can find out how much you would be eligible for on the Ofgem website. If the capacity of your installation isn’t listed by Ofgem, it is not eligible for the Renewable Heat Initiative.
How Can Lion Containers Ltd Help Your Business?
Lion Containers are able to offer a wide range of Biogas and/or Biomass stores. We can offer ‘off the shelf’ options or Bespoke units. The container solution is invariably a process enclosure. With Biogas the container is modified to house the process plant which aids the liquefaction, acid formation and methane formation required to create biogas. With Biomass the fuel is often waste wood in either wooden pellet or wood chip form. The fuel is then fed from the fuel store into the boiler room via augers which connect through apertures in the container walls. The specification of the container will depend on the individual customer and also the machinery used. We have the following containerised solutions to assist your home with this scheme:
