Laboratory Container Conversions

Shipping containers are robust weather tight units that we are able to modify to bespoke specifications. The strong steel structure of these units is the perfect base for mobile laboratories. Here at Lion Containers we are able to offer the perfect solutions for your container laboratory, whether it is to be used for medical or chemical testing, or in a industrial capacity. These labs can be built using the shell of an ISO shipping container or they can be custom built to DNV standard 2.7-1 or 2.7-3.

Some specifications may include the unit being air tight, or on the other hand it may need to be well ventilated with specific extraction systems. Our labs are lined using non-combustible spray foam insulation or ridged insulation boards and faced with either MFC or FR30 steel lining. There are several options available to modify the containers floor to ensure they are safe and easy to clean; overlaying the original marine ply wood using 3mm steel durbar or polysafe non-slip vinyl, or removing the ply wood completely and creating a chemical bund. We can offer a range of windows and doors, fire escapes and escape hatches and your electrics can be fitted to be NICEIC or IP rated.

Our mobile labs have been used for a range of clients based in the UK, some have been shipped all over the world! Should you wish to find out more please contact our team on 0333 600 6260.

Delivering Your Laboratory Container

We have a small team of trusted hauliers working for us here in the UK. Deliveries normally take place between 7am-8pm, Monday to Friday, however we can work outside of these times if so wished. We also provide site visits to those more tricky delivery areas, all members of our team have passed their CSCS card test. This means that they are able to visit sites in order to reduce accidents and drive up on-site efficiency. Should you require your container for shipping purposes, we can provide you with a CSC Verification Certificate, our professionals will test and certify your new or used 40ft container to ensure it is structurally sound and safe to ship your cargo by vessel.
